LONGER FINGERS

I could have matrimonised my lips with yours
But your last lover has a sored palate

I could have walked you down this path
But you despise my shoes

I craved to hold your hands,
You dropped my hands because of your unequal fingers

My heart would have skipped each time our gaze met but your lens won't let

I could stay up late to say goodnight everyday,
But my day starts when yours ends

I could have danced with you, but my steps are no match for your Waltz

I could duet with you but your pitch is
Too soprano for my tremble

I could say that we starcrossed,
But we were never in love.
